《Q311》 I am using your TMH0512H, and while setting up the converter in the test board, there was something that bugged me. The secondary output is from 5.45~5.55V, what do you think the problem is?
The TMH0505S as stated in the catalog is an unstable type and a max load change of 10%, input change ±12%, so 5.55V would not be a malfunction number. When the input voltage is high or the output current is low, the output voltage tends to get higher. If there are any problems, we would recommend a stable type converter.
《Q310》 When the DC-DC malfunctions and the input voltage is directly discharged from the output, howmuch current will be discharged through the output? (When shorted, how much A will be outputed from the he switching IC?)
When the converter malfunctions and the unrestricted current is discharged, the A will be determined by the power supply and its capacity. When this occurs the smaller parts of the PCB pattern may be disconnected. This does not only apply when malfunction occurs to the product, but also when shorted between patterns or malfunctions while the power supply line for the capacitor has a broken short mode. As a countermeasure, putting a fuse to the input line may be the best way. If the power supply has a limited capacity, using that by itself will not have a problem, but if the capacity is large, the smaller patterns may be cut off but also depends on the pattern itself. Therefore checking the capacity of the power supply would be a good idea.
《Q309》 When the onput voltage gradually starting up chattering occurs near the output. (BSV-H)
Fast response converters when a certain amount of voltage is put into the input, the output voltage will start right up. However when this happens the input current also raises rapidly, and when the input power supply line has a high impedance and the voltage dips, the output will turn off once.
《Q308》 The temperature of my converter is high, is there a problem?
The DC-DC converters temperature will usually rise to about 30℃~40℃. The surface temperature may rise to about 100℃. Therefore, if the product is operating within these specifications, there is no problem. However if the rise in temperature is greater compared to other products, there maybe a problem.
《Q307》 I am using your product outside the input voltage range, is it a problem if I keep using it outside the voltage range?(BY)
We can not guarantee the product if it is used outside the given specifications. Always use the product within the stated input voltage range.
《Q306》 When the converter is off, is there a problem if voltage is impressed on the output?
Yes, do not impress any voltage on the output when the converter is off.
《Q305》 Is there a problem if a small amount of voltage is impressed on the input constantly?
There is a chance that the DC-DC converter will counter problems if voltages below the input voltage range is constantly impressed.
《Q304》 As stated in the over current protection, “Usage of product in short may cause malfunctions to product”, how long is too long?
The over current protection’s purpose is to protect the product from large currents, however if the over current status is continued, the heat radiation will rise, and as a result the product may break. Usually the limit is a couple seconds. Also when the over current status is with held, the most of the products will not break, however leaving them in over current mode is considered dangerous.

Most of the power supplies that are sold which have the over protection current circuit, when used in short mode for a long period of time the reliability of the product decreases and or may damage the product, and therefore it is usually prohibited.
